I work as a motion designer at The Washington Post, adapting vertical video for Instagram Stories, creating animated artwork for article pages, and bringing motion to interactive stories.

Lorde Shows Off Seven Artifacts That Inspire Her New Album 'Virgin' (for Rolling Stone)
This year I was lucky enough to work with Waiss Aaramesh and animate title and transition sequences for Rolling Stone's June cover star, Lorde! Now baby, what was that?

The Case of the Stolen Pigeons
Reporter Kevin Sieff went to Belgium to find out what had happened to a fleet of racing birds who went missing in the night. Without footage of his journey, it was the perfect project for hand-drawn illustrations.

Fish can talk.
Here's what they're saying.
Science reporter Dino Grandoni and I worked together to take this underwater footage of fish communication and bring it to readers. Instead of just naming each species and how it made noise, I wanted to use animated overlays to make the audio data visual. We would be the first people to depict something like this in graphic form, so Dino and I worked closely with the research group FishEye Collaborative to ensure we were properly explaining the new research, identifying each fish species properly, and highlighting the correct parts of their anatomy.

Looking to improve your mental health? Pay attention to birds.
2023 was the year that I got into birds. It was also, coincidentally, the year that the Washington Post published this story about the mental benefits of bird-watching. With the help of illustrator George Wyesol and designer/art director Chelsea Conrad, this animation I created for Instagram won the Society for News Design bronze award for "video stories design."
